PARADISE GARDEN

ISLAND OF CYPRUS

Paradise Garden was designed for a private residence on the island of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean. The concept was to provide an elegant, ordered landscape to ground the complex and sculptural architecture of the house. Inspired by Persian garden heritage, the landscape unfolds as a beautiful surface or rug. A linear water system offers multiple expressions of water ; from a spring, to a series of rills, to a sunken pond as a place of life for fish and plants. The plant palette celebrates the surrounding native landscape, highlighting distinct zones within the garden from more xeric upland areas to lush shaded garden rooms.
